Lava Tubes

As the clouds rolled into the crater we rolled on to a quick lunch of Cajun Ahi and then on to the next hike. A drive through a canyon of eucalyptus trees lead us to an experimental grove of cedar through which a path led to an eventual descent to a lava tube infested valley.

Having not packed a flashlight, Maxx suggested I use my Q camera flash to explore the tubes, so we covered every tube to their ends. Some tubes run along the canyon wall opening in multiple places as seen in the photo while others ran straight into the mountain as far as 160 feet.
